New contribution rates for employees and employers took effect July 1, 2023, remaining relatively stable over the prior fiscal year.

Contribution rates are adjusted annually by the Board of Retirement based on recommendations by the SCERS’ actuaries to ensure long-term funding is sufficient to support benefit payments now and in the future.
