Steve Hawley joined SCERS as Chief Strategy Officer in August 2017 and has overall responsibility for implementation of SCERS’s strategic management plan, risk management, and the IT modernization program. 

From 2006 to 2016, Steve served as a Senior Executive with Accenture, LLP with responsibility for Innovation and Thought Leadership within the global public pension industry consulting practice.  Steve began his consulting career in 1979 with Arthur Andersen, where he became a partner in 1988, and has managed benefit administration and investment accounting system implementation projects in more than 20 state and local pension systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Louisiana State University and has been a Certified Public Accountant and Project Management Professional.
