Office Closure Notice
SCERS will be closing at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23rd for a staff event, but will return to its regular operating hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24.
Memorial Day Office Closure
In observance of Memorial Day, SCERS will be closed on Monday, May 30. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 31.
Ronald Suter Returns to the SCERS Board
SCERS welcomes the appointment of former Regional Parks director Ronald Suter to the SCERS Board, on which he previously served as an elected trustee from 1994 to 2006.
Holiday Closure
SCERS will be closed on Thursday, March 31 in observance of Cesar Chavez Day. SCERS’ normal business hours will resume on Friday, April 1.
Change Coming to Post-Retirement Employment Limits
California state rules restricting post-retirement employment (i.e. 960-hour limit and 180-day sit-out period) are back in effect April 1, 2022.

SCERS will be making a change to its member service hours effective Monday, January 31, 2022.

SCERS Resumes Business as Usual Thursday, Dec. 16
Although power has now been restored at 980 9th Street, the SCERS office will remain closed for rest of the afternoon Wednesday, Dec. 15 as staff work remotely. Our office will reopen to the public on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 8:00 a.m. for business as usual.

Due to power outages in Downtown Sacramento, the SCERS office at 980 9th Street has closed for the afternoon of Tuesday, December 14, and will reopen on Wednesday, December 15 at 8:00 A.M. for business as usual.
SCERS Nears Fully-Funded Status
The Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS) is closing in on a fully-funded pension plan to support the long-term benefit obligations for its 30,000 members.
Notice of Thanksgiving Holiday Hours
In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, our office will be closing at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021.
Alameda Corrections Update
The correction process to comply with the California Supreme Court decision in the case of Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association et al. v. Alameda County Employees’ Retirement Association and Board of Retirement of ACERA (Alameda) is still underway.
Turnaround Time Improves for First Retirement Check
SCERS has made significant improvements in delivering a better experience for members. Among these improvements is a steady decrease in wait times for retirees’ first checks, from 75 days earlier this summer to the current median time of less than 60 days.
